Ettan Progenesis
2D gel electrophoresis is the cornerstone of Proteomics research. However historically the analysis of gels is highly labour-intensive and time-consuming, causing a bottleneck in the experimental procedure. In order to break this bottleneck, we have to transform it into a high throughput, automatic process.

Common problems associated with 2D electrophoresis

Until now, the widespread application of 2D electrophoresis has been limited by the inherent problems of data variance. This can be caused by merged spots, smears, noise or stain residue which appear in the gels. This can then be exacerbated by experimental discrepancy, such as differences in image resolution, gel media, cross-lab protocols and operator subjectivity.

Ettan Progenesis overcomes these problems as it provides high levels of throughput, objectivity, sensitivity, reliability and quantitative accuracy.
